Testing our senses ! |
| The Senses- Experiment Senior Infants learned about the five senses: Sight Touch Hearing Smell Taste |

| We carried out five experiments to test each of our senses. | ||
| Experiment 1: We tested our sight by playing a game. Our teacher had seven pieces of fruit. We had to use our sight to look at them and remember them. Then, we had to look away and one child removed one piece of fruit. We opened our eyes and had to guess which piece of fruit the child removed. It was fun! |

| Experiment 2: We tested out touch using a feely bag. Our teacher had collected lots of different objects and put them in a bag. One child at a time had to come up and put their hand in the feely bag and feel one object. Each child had to try and guess what it was. It was a bean bag! |

| Experiment 3: We tested our hearing using musical instruments. One child had to close their eyes while another child played a musical instrument from the musical instruments box.The child with their eyes closed had to try and use their ears to guess what musical instrument the other child was playing. |

| Experiment 4: Next, we tested our smell. Our teacher had prepared five plastic cups with different smells in each one. Then, she covered them with tissue and put a small hole at the top. We had to take it in turns to smell through the cup and guess what the smell was. Some smelled nice and others not so nice! Cup 1- Coffee Cup 2- Soap Cup 3- Ginger Cup 4- Vinegar Cup 5- Orange |

| Experiment
5: The last sense we tested was our taste. Our teacher had prepared some items for us to taste. We had to close our eyes and put our fingers into different cups and then put the item on our tongues and taste each one. We had to try and guess what each one was. Again, some tasted nice and others not as nice! Cup 1- Banana Cup 2- Apple Cup 3- Sugar Cup 4- Salt Cup 5- Lemon juice |
