Green Flag ceremony:
We were delighted to welcome Diarmuid Gavin last Friday to raise our
4th International Green Flag. The weather was perfect and despite
a slight technical hitch on the first attempt, the flag eventually
was raised high above the school.
Well done to E. D. and pupils in 6th Class who provided musical entertainment
on tin whistle and thank you to Christy Murray for playing the bagpipes
as the flag was being raised. The theme of this years renewal was
‘Travel’ and our ‘Park and Stride’ and ‘W.O.W.’
days this term have been a great success. Congratulations to everyone
who has taken up the challenge of walking to school.
Following the flag raising E. and S. made a presentation to Diarmuid
Gavin. A special word of thanks to Mr Gideon Doe who was a terrific
help in the preparation of the school grounds before this event.
Apologies for the late notice of this event. Our text-a-parent
reached some but not all of our parents and had to be re-sent on Friday
morning. A technical glitch beyond our control!
