We really enjoyed our May visit to Glenveagh National Park.
While sitting in the sunny walled garden, we did some writing and drew pictures about our trip.

The best thing about Glenveagh is going on the nature walk and seeing lots of insects (that were kind of gross). I really liked taking photos of the lake and the dead deer as well. After all that we then had some lunch and after we had finished the lunch we were allowed to play in the playground for a while.

My favourite thing about Glenveagh National Park is that there is lots of things to enjoy, like all the different walks and the castle is fun as well. There are lots of different flowers. I can name some flowers like daffodils, blue bells and I really like the smell of the gorse. Yum!

Reading our stories with 4th class!

Are you brave enough to join us on a trip to another world?
Here are some of our stories, which we typed out in a little book format, printed and enjoyed reading our books to 4th class on World Book Day.

It all started about a year ago. I was playing in my bedroom when I noticed a door at the back of my wardrobe. Once I opened it I knew it was a secret door. I ended up in some place called East High. It was great. People were dancing and singing all over the place. It wasn’t until I went to the gymhall that I noticed where I was. I couldn’t believe it was the wildcats. I could see Troy and Chad. I had to nip myself to see if I was dreaming. I could not stay long as I could hear my mum calling me so I rushed back home. THE END

A Secret Day
One day I was in my room. My chair fell and broke the wall. My Mum didn’t hear so I went in and saw a bright light. I walked towards the light and when I was close enaugh to the light I saw that it was fairies. They told me that I could make a wish so I wished that I could live with my cousins. But I always had to come back before dinner. And I always had fun and I could not let their parents see me. I pushed the cupboard in front of the broken part of the wall and I could do a second wish. I always wished to go home and then I was home and my Mum called me down for dinner.

My Animal Beach
One evening I was in my bedroom when I decided I wanted to go to my secret place.
I have a secret trap door on my bedroom floor. I went to the Animals beach. I met a girl whose name was Naomi. She showed me around. There was one rule:-
“Don’t hurt the animals” .
I got to ride a Horse, a Dolphin Seal and a Whale”. After all that Naomi took me out
for a bite to eat at the Coco nut crack restaurant. The food was delicious and the craic was good. It was time to go home. Naomi took me outside to the trapdoor and said good bye ‘Come again soon’, she said. I jumped into the trapdoor and then I was home.

My Secret Passage
One day I was cleaning the dust under my bed. Then strange circles appeared in front of my eyes. I woke up in a graveyard and saw a zombie. I came over to him and hugged him. We became best friends. He showed me his grave. It had flowers all around his grave. I asked his name. He said he couldn’t remember his name. I said “It’s on your grave stone” then he said he couldn’t read either. So I read his grave stone. It said “Ben” and that he was born in 1005. Ben gave me some flowers. Suddenly I fell into the grave and I was home under the bed with a bunch of flowers in my hand.

My Very Hairy Adventure
It was very sunny. I went to my dog. When suddenly I saw her jaw open and she swallowed me whole. I went through my dog Sydney’s stomach. I saw all her organs and it looked pretty gross...Then my dog got up from her little snooze and was running outside while playing with my next door neighbour’s dog. It didn’t go so well for me on the other hand because I was toppling and turning while my dog was running! It nearly made me sick so I tried to find my way out as quickly as possible while my doggy was eating. I guess since I was smaller then my dog’s organs it might be hard to get out without being crushed or stepped on. I ran everywhere and every place and finally I saw my dog’s mouth and teeth and I knew I was near the end. It took 3 hours but my Mom thought I was in my room or on the computer.
I came to the teeth which had taken a while because I could only move tiny spaces because I was tiny. Then I tried to open my dog’s mouth which was a failure for she thought I was a bug and was always moving her head making me fall backwards. Then my mom called Sydney and told her that it was dinner time which meant dog food time and Sydney came rushing. For me I was holding on to her tonsils which was very hard because I kept slipping off.
All of a sudden I saw my opportunity and jumped! I had to jump extra high to get out and then I quickly went to bed. The next day was mostly the same as always, I got dressed, I had toast and I went to school but really I just was bored. I wanted to have some adventure but I didn’t know how so I just went home and really everything was normal so I went home as usual and everything was back to normal. I did what I did normally and I ate as normal although I was just a bit scared of Sydney. She seems spooky with eating me and all so it was just a bit scary but I found out she only eats you if you are alone with her in an empty room and now that I know this I’d mostly just stay with a person or I’d carry a teddy. It scares Sydney so I’m pretty much safe now and I’m not going to be eaten again, well hopefully not eaten again. So now I’m just a normal person with a normal life except for that memory.

One day I was playing in the snow. I made a snowball and threw it at my friend. His name is E. He fell into a ditch. I was waiting for E. to get out. 10 minutes later.....I jumped in too. I fell on an iceberg. The iceberg went to the NORTH POLE!!!!!!! We saw Santa! He gave me a new D.S. game. It is called Super Mario Bros. We played football. Santa was the reff, Dancer and Prancer were the goalkeepers and me and E. were the team captains. My team won!

ONE DAY I WAS WATCHING A SPACE PROGRAMME ON THE T.V.
AND I GOT UP TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT WHAT THE MAN WAS POINTING OUT. SUDDENLY A BRIGHT LIGHT WAS SHINING FROM THE T.V. I STARTED TO FLOAT TOWARDS THE T.V.. NEXT THING I KNEW IT WAS DARK AND THERE WERE LOTS OF STARS IN THE SKY AND THE MOON SMILED AT ME. I WAS STILL FLOATING AND WAS HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME. THEN THIS BIG ROCKET PASSED ME. IT WAS THE MOST WONDERFUL THING TO SEE. IT WAS SO BIG AND AMAZING. THE LIGHT STARTED TO SHINE AND I WAS FLOATING TOWARDS IT, THEN I WAS BACK SITTING ON THE SOFA AND WATCHING THE SPACE PROGRAMME AGAIN .

Once upon a time there was a girl called Amy. She was making her bed when she saw a button on the sun sticker and pressed it . She fell through her bed and came to a different world. She saw angels so she thought she was in Heaven. So an angel came to her and said:” Welcome to Heaven”.She had golden hair and a white gown and red ruby earrings. She said: ”My name is Polly, I am 12 years of age and I’m a gardener with my friends. Do you want to play fly over the rainbow?” “Ok”, I said “Come on”. When we had flown over the rainbow we had food. I had golden nuggets and strips of chips, then I was done so Polly showed me her friends. Her friends’ names were KIRSTY, ELLA, MARK, HOLLY and JOSHUA. It was getting dark so I fell into a bed of feathers and I fell asleep. I found myself back in my bed at home. THE END

and I saw a machine. I pressed the green button. It made what ever sweet you
would like. I said ‘‘Can I have a toffee?’’and it gave me a toffee sweet. My cousin
Lydia wanted a mint sweet. It gave her a mint sweet. We got my teddy
and played on my DS.

We had loads of fun making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday!
We weighed, measured and mixed the ingredients which were:
100g flour
pinch of salt
1 egg
250ml milk
Mr. Oliver held cooking workshops and demonstrated fine technique!
The results were very tasty....
especially served with lemon juice, sugar, maple syrup, blueberries and bananas

We live in amazing places...... and we love where we live !

My name is Marzipan and I live in space. The planet I live on is Mars and my best friend lives on Venus. My parents live on Jupiter ! I love living on Mars because all we eat is Mars bars and every single shop on Mars is called 'Welcome to the Mars Bars Shop'. I work at the Mars Bars chocolate factory on the Moon. One of the best things about living in space is my space ship. My favourite thing about my space ship is the colourful lights and the way it goes fast and spins around.

I live on a farm with my Mum and my Dad and my two brothers. We have a dairy farm. We have 250 cows and we have to milk them every morning and every night. Also we have a lot of sheep and we grow some crops. The crops we grow are used to feed our animals. One of the things I love most is the baby calves and baby lambs in the springtime. I always help to feed them. I love all farm machinery especially tractors. My favourite is John Deere. I love everything about living on a farm.

I love the country because it is quiet and peaceful, and I can walk up the fields and walk to the Karting Centre. It's so safe to play and there is a lot of room. I love to drive the quad with my dad through the fields. I can see the river Swilly from my house. Because I live in the country I am able to keep pets. I have a pony called Tinkerbell who lives in the field beside my house. I also have a rabbit called Elvis and a cat called Shadow. I love living in Ballymaleel.

I would love to live on the moon because it's quiet and there are lots of places to play. I could play in all the craters and on the mountains. I would have to wear a spacesuit and would like to dress like that. I would wave to earth everyday when I get up.

I live in a chocolate factory. I love it there because they give you free chocolate on your birthday and Christmas. I love living there. They teach you about chocolate and every time you get a question right they give you a big chocolate bar of your choice. You can have a dairy milk bar or a twirl. I always have a dairy milk bar but sometimes I have a twirl, they are both yummy. But every night for my homework I have to carve anything out of chocolate but the best thing is I show it to my teacher every morning and then when Mrs. Chocolate is done looking at it I can eat it yum!

I live in the sea with my mum and my dad and my sister. I am a mermaid. We live in an old sunken ship. My bed is a large oyster shell. My blanket is made of seaweed and my pillow is made of sponge. Everyday I swim with my friends the dolphins, goldfish and the clown fish. My favourite thing is riding the tidal waves on my sea horse.

I love living with the circus because I get to travel all over the world. The circus is so fun because I get to look after and feed the monkeys and ponies. Every night is show night. I get dressed in my clown outfit, get my make-up on then my wig and big red nose. My favourite part of my act is throwing cream pies at the other clowns. It makes me happy when I see everyone enjoying the fun and all the children laughing that's why I love where I live.

I live in a cloud. It is beautiful and white. I like the fresh air. It's a shape of a flower. I like looking at the birds. I have a cat and nothing else. It is nice and sunny up there. I like to jump from cloud to cloud and play with my cat and have visitors. I play with my neighbours. It is very soft. It's fun to look down. When I look down at the people they look very small.

I live in the countryside. In the fields around our house you can see sheep, cows and horses and millions of birds. If you look closer you might see rabbits, foxes, bats, or squirrels. There is lots of space.
